Picking up a woman can be a challenge and it can be hard on your ego if you get rejected. However, there are a few ways you can increase your chances of going home with someone. Follow these tips and the next time you go up to bat, you will hopefully make a home run.
Pick up lines are good for one thing: chasing women away. Most pick up lines are too aggressive or too cliche. Even funny pick up lines rarely work. Instead, you should strike up a conversation with a woman just like you would with anyone else. Remember that women are people and that you should treat them accordingly. Ask them about their day and what they do for work. Spend a little time actually getting to know a woman before you try to take her home.
You should also dress well. You do not need to look like you just walked out of an office, but you should at least make an effort with your appearance. Your clothes should be clean and neat and should be at least somewhat coordinated.
Avoid using a lot of cologne or body spray. A guy in a bar who smells strongly also smells of desperation. You should make sure that you smell subtly nice. Deodorant is usually enough but a little cologne can be appropriate as well. You want any scent that you wear to only be noticeable when a girl leans in close to you.
One way to increase your chances of successfully picking up women is to use a wing man. When a man is by himself at a bar, women can guess why here is there and they raise their defenses. When a man is there with a friend, everyone simply assumes that they are just enjoying an evening out. Women do not feel so intimidated when two guys start a conversation with her. In theory, your wing man should let you try and woo the woman. Sometimes, your wing man ends up trying to pick up girls as well. Your wing man goes from friend, to competitor.
If you want to use a wing man, consider asking a married friend or one who is in a committed relationship. A married friend will be much less likely to pick up your targets.
Try and keep a few things in your house or apartment that a woman might need. Have a new toothbrush ready. A woman will appreciate your consideration. Maybe you two will become friends with benefits or even something more.
Remember to treat every woman that you meet with respect. You might only be looking for a night of fun, but that woman you pick up might just turn out to be the love of your life. Follow these tips and you might just have someone follow you home.
