How to Pick Out a Wedding Ring

There are thousands of jewelry stores out there that are ready to sell you your perfect wedding ring. However, picking out the wedding ring can be one of the hardest decisions in the entire wedding process. You want to make sure that you find the perfect band, while staying reasonably in your budget. Not too worry though, because as long as you take patience and time, you will soon be a professional at knowing how to pick out a wedding ring.

1. Browse through magazines and pictures online for an idea on what you would like your wedding rings to look like. Figure out if you want the band to have diamonds, designs, or even your names along with the wedding date engraved inside of the ring. And make sure that it's going to match the brides engagement ring, for that is a key importance in finding the ring band.

2. Ask family members or friends who have done this before, if they could recommend you somebody that can do it for a decent price. You will discover that the person that can design your ring maybe closer and cheaper then you may think. Perhaps even one of the grandparents have an old set of wedding bands that they would be willing to pass down to you for no charge at all.

3. Go with your future spouse to the stores and try on the rings. Don't take retailers words online on what the ring may look like and fit, because in order for you to figure out what will fit best, you should get your fingers sized in the jewelry store. Then once you have the perfect size, you can see what goes best with your style and hands.

4. After you have found that perfect ring, make sure that you know where you can get it cleaned, or re-sized, if necessary. With some jewelry stores, such as Tiffanys, you will find that you have to take the ring back to that specific store to have anything done with it, and it can cost an arm and a leg. So find out the details of the ring, and what kind of silver or gold it is, so you have an idea on what it would cost to have anything done to it in the future.

5. Once you get the ring all ordered and the engraving details done, find out if they are going to have to hold the ring for a bit to do any re-sizing or engraving. If you waited til the last minute to get the ring, you might be in a bit of bad luck if the ring won't be ready before the big day.
